June 10, 2025

Keep Your Hoshizaki Ice Machine Running at Its Best

Change Your Water Filter the Right Way

To ensure your Hoshizaki ice machine produces clean, clear ice, using a water filtration system is essential. Filters trap harmful contaminants and reduce limescale buildup, helping your machine run more efficiently while improving ice quality.

Why Water Filters Matter

  • Improves ice clarity and taste
  • Prevents harmful buildup
  • Boosts efficiency and longevity
  • Easy to replace—part of regular maintenance

How to Change the Filter Cartridge

  1. Turn off the unit and water inlet.
  2. Relieve pressure by opening the flushing valve.
  3. Remove old filter: Push up, twist left, pull down.
  4. Insert new filter: Align lug with label, push up, twist right.
  5. Repeat for additional cartridges (if needed).
  6. Flush the filter: Open water inlet and flush valve for 5 minutes. Close valve.
  7. Restore power to the ice machine.

When to Replace Your Filter

Every 6–12 months depending on water quality and usage.

Signs You Need a New Filter:

  • Cloudy, bad-tasting, or oddly shaped ice
